About Me
I love creativity. Solving a problem through the use of imagination is quite satisfying. The process of exploring ideas to see which one will deliver that much-needed outcome for the task at hand is a meaningful part of the journey.
Today’s digital tools have changed how we perceive the artist’s studio. When I dig into that artist’s toolbox, I find laptops and software programs next to the pencils and sketch pads. To master the craft, I take advantage of every tool available.
Technology has empowered me to express myself, but, in the end, it’s just another tool. The real power comes from my broad spectrum of interests and from finding value in different paths and ideas. I have benefited greatly from being open to learning new things, trying new experiences and meeting new people. This has been the driving force behind my creativity.
Leo Burnett, who created some of advertising’s most well-known campaigns of the 20th century, once said:
“Curiosity about life in all of its aspects, I think, is still the secret of great creative people.”
I agree with Mr. Burnett. However, I’ve been referring to these creatives as having the “what if” factor. They are not afraid of asking “What if we try this?”. Having this trait means being courageously curious and open-minded. It is a goal that the artist in me strives for and that the businessman in me values.
Professional and personal creative accomplishments, along with an appreciation of the new approaches that technology brings, are what drives my enthusiasm to be successful at doing the very thing that I love: to create.
